It's been too long

Hey friends! So I have been bad and haven't finished editing my new vlog to post but I promise from the bottom of my heart it will be up this week.

I have had SO MUCH happen since I moved here over Labor Day weekend.  So I'm going to give everyone a quick update till I get my new vlog up :)

So since we last talked I was on my way to NYC. Stephanie and I drove from Ohio to NYC and crashed at my aunts. The next morning when we woke up we went to wear the rental car was and... it was gone... the moment when i was standing in the place my car had been and looking at a dark blue car and not a burgundy on was the moment wear I either freaked out or took a deep breath, and thanks to Steph's levelheadedness the deep breath was taken and we proceeded to retrieve my car from the impound... now that's part of the NYC tour they don't normally show you. After that we met up with my love love Paola and ran around the city. We went to China Town and had Chinese food, went Central park and took in the green space and walked around Time Square.

Then I began in on my internship for fashion week... it was a crazy, crazy adventure but I met some friends and had an amazing time!! Along with getting to wear a really amazing Nicholas to the show made by the designer who did the jewelry for the show Micha Kuechenhoff.

Now I'm working as a hostess at an awesome Italian place in the Theatre District and I love it!!!

I'm getting ready to move into a new apartment on the upper east side and starting to audition for everything I can.

At this moment I'm over caffeinated and  using the free wireless in Starbucks to make lists of auditions and to catch up on my shows oh HULU :)

Vlog of my adventures soon to come!!

Cheers

My Talented Friends #2

A Jackie of all trades is exactly what my friend Paola is. The girl writes music, acoustic and  electric, and takes some really beautiful, truthful photographs.  Her blog is called Light Body Eye. She uses film for all of her photo's and they are some of the most uniquely composed and executed pictures I've ever seen. (Not to mention this girl is my soul mate) My favorite set of photo's is a series called persephone maiden it was inspired by the Greek myth of Persephone, maiden of the Spring and Queen of the Underworld.
This is my favorite from that series. Enjoy!!

 Cheers,

My Talented Friends #1

I love having artistic friends! The next 3 blog posts are going to be about my talented friends!!

This is my friend Jo...the other JoJo as it may be :) Joanna Eberts is an illustration major at RIT, who is both incredibly sweet, and a mettle head.  Her art spans that same range from fun and cute to classic beauty and trow in a few demon horses and a zombie lady and you have some really incredible art work.

She drew this of me, my brother, my friend Paola, and  her at the Mat and Kim / Spoon concert we went to this summer.  We had an amazing time!!  Check out her blog!

Cheers!!

So here is the deal...Life is good!

I officially have the most baller internship of all time!! I'm working for the amazingly talented new couture designer Nicholas Lindsey helping with PR for NYC fashion week. The majority of my job is sending e-mails and finding contact information to invite people to his show which is admittedly a little tedious but I'm a nerd and I love doing it.

Part of the deal is that I'm moving to NYC in September!!  I wanted to do this anyways but this has given me the extra push to jump in with both feet. Now all I need to do is pack... oh crap... packing!!!  I have roughly 15 days to pack!!!! I have no idea what to take with me or how much! Right now I have 3 categories of things I need.
1: Things for Musical Theatre
2: Things for PR
3: Life things

I've got 1 and 2 basically figured out but "life things" get's a little tricky... do I need plates? What about my pink lawn flamingo... I like him so much... is there room for him? If given the choice between plates and the lawn flamingo would choosing the flamingo be rational? Probably...I guess I'll figure it out eventually.

And by October I might need a room mate... but I'll worry about that later. I've got time right?... right?.... right!

Anyone have advice on what's important to bring with me?

Cheers!

Identity Crisis

I am two people. Not in a United States of Tara kind of way but in a how do I market myself kind of way.
What made me think of this is ? Graduation. I'm graduating soon and for the first time I don't know what I'm doing next year. It's all up in the air. The only thing I know is that I'm planing to move to NYC in september and who knows, that could change if I get some kind of awesome job before then... okay back on topic. I'm graduating and I want a job specifically as an actress. I am also a PR major and would like to use my PR degree form one of the 13 accredited programs in the country some how and get a survival job doing that too.

Here in lies the rub, someone hears that you're striving to be an actor and they figure you aren't serious about having a "regular" job and that you aren't going to be at any job for long.

then in the acting world the saying is  "if you can see yourself doing anything else do that". SO you tell a casting director that you do PR (or what ever) as well then they don't think you are serious... it's a circle of doom!!! so in the social media realm what am I suppose to do? How do I market myself? Do I have a web-cite that says JOJO GINN for PR click here for acting click here or do I go as Joanna in the PR world and as JoJo in the acting world and have two brands, then really give myself an identity crisis... or is it cool to be doing both things? any advice my social networking friends? what oh what shal I do... I've exhausted myself typing about this...

Cheers,

JoJo

CRAFTING!!!

A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away I wrote blog updates... what a beautiful time that was. Alas my life is slowing down in a crazy kind of way, I'm graduating in 4 weeks!!! It's a scary/exciting time. My plan is to work this summer as much as I can them move to NYC to pursue the dream of being an actress and a social media guru... it's fine I'll make it work:)

On a completely different note I've been thinking about crafting lately. (Stop judging right now! I like crafts, they make me happy...I said stop it... thanks) and I wanted to share the gift that I made my mom for christmas with you. I got the idea of making these pumpkin lights from Not So Idle Hands and then was inspired to make snow men!!! (Halloween and Christmas are my mom's favorite holidays, and mine too!)  Plus this gift idea is potentially a "green" project if you you use old jars, candle holders and other glass vessels that are sitting around your house... maybe a vase...I digress... so here are my little creations!!

Not So Idle Hand's Inspired

(My fave is the squatty guy that's made out of a candy dish)

The snowmen!

(I'm like a proud mamma... I love them all)

Cheers,
